Yeah a couple of people have suggested Mewey to me, Bruce. I’d still have Hodge at CHB but I’ll concede that Croada could probably be dropped in favour of Chris Mew on the HB flank.

Ah yes, I did put Lethal in at the half forward flank as a “forward”. What I meant but should have clarified was that he didn’t fit into the actual front forward line as in either forward pocket or full forward.

Clearly one of the most awesome footy posts ever written and I don’t even go for the Hawks! Stu Dew is a massive in and made the 2008 GF his own. Not sure that I would say Leigh Matthews doesn’t stack up as a forward against the others though… 915 goals at 2.76 per game despite playing most of his career in the midfield is a massive effort! Buddy averages 3.0 and Dermie averaged 2.26 and they have played full careers as forwards (although Dunstall and Hudson were both freaks). Imo, LM is the greatest player of all time, slightly shading Ronald Dale Barassi (I’m not biased at all…)
